Meet the Publican: Sharon Pearsall, The Pheasant Inn

Sharon Pearsall, The Pheasant Inn
This week we are in Stone, where we pose our questions to Sharon Pearsall who has taken over The Pheasant Inn on Old Road in Stone

What inspired you to run a pub?
It has been a life long dream

Why should people come to your pub?
For the traditional pub atmosphere, family friendly spaces and warm welcome. For Sky Sports, dominoes, darts, bingo and pool. For the community feel in both bars.

What will we find behind the bar to delight our tastebuds?
3 ales, including Doom Bar, Pedigree, Hobgoblin Gold. A range of lagers, ciders and spirits. Non alcoholic Guiness, cider and gin.
Pickled eggs, pickled onions, cobs and pick n’ mix for the children.

Do you have any regular or occasional events?
Weekly ‘chase the joker’ on Friday. Fortnightly Friday Bingo. Free Pool Wednesday and Friday. Darts league on Monday and Wednesday.

What are the best & worst parts of the job?
Best: Meeting the public, customers. hearing everyone having a great time.
Worst: Cleaning at 8am every morning!

You have some time off – what do you do?
Meet friends and spend time with my children. Have days out.

Any funny moments you can share?
Bingo is always a laugh

What three words best describe your pub?
Family, warm, fun

How could CAMRA (local & national) help support you?
Host events, promote our ales, provide point of sale posters

Tell us you best (or worst) pub joke
A man walks into the pub with a roll of tarmac under his arm and says ‘Two pints, one for me and one for the road’.

The Pheasant Inn is one of a few surviving back-street corner locals. Closed for a while, Sharon has taken on this delightful old-fashioned pub which still has a stone floored, separate public bar with log burner with larger rooms behind.
