Travelling a little further afield to Milwich for our next meet the publican, where we pose our ten questions to Rod Webb, long standing licencee of The Green Man
What inspired you to run a pub?
Something that i’ve always wanted to do
Why should people come to your pub?
Great atmosphere. Great garden
What will we find behind the bar to delight our tastebuds?
Selection of traditional ales and lagers, Good food.
Do you have any regular or occasional events?
We have a duck race and music festival in the pub garden. Darts and dominoes. Pub quiz once a month
What are the best & worst parts of the job?
Hearing the customers laughing and joking
The worst is when they fall out
You have some time off – what do you do?
Love going for a walk with the dogs
Any funny moments you can share?
“I lost my keys!” The whole pubs is looking for his keys and can’t find them. He eventually gets a taxi home. Phones the next day, “did you find them?”. “No” I said, “by the way did you look in your car?”. He comes up and finds the keys in the ignition!
What three words best describe your pub?
Friendly. Loyal. Rural.
